The Wild Sheep Foundation, Kevin Hurley Wild Sheep Biology Award

Required Qualifications – in the order of preference:

  • First preference:
    – Pursing a degree from the Department of Ecology
    – Graduate student
    – Studying North American wild sheep and/or mountain goats
  • Second preference:
    – Pursuing a degree from the Department of Ecology
    – Junior or senior status
    – Studying North American wild sheep and/or mountain goats
  • Third preference:
    – Pursuing a degree from the Department of Ecology
    – Junior, senior or graduate student
    – Studying international mountain ungulates largely equivalent to North American wild sheep and/or mountain goats
  • Fourth preference:
    – Junior, senior or graduate student
    – Pursuing research on wild sheep or mountain goats conducted within the Department of Animal and Range Sciences

The award may be used for: Cost of Attendance, Stipend, Research Equipment and Supplies, or Travel or Publishing Expenses Related to Research

    This award was established and endowed by The Wild Sheep Foundation in recognition of retired Wyoming Game and Fish Department wildlife manager, Kevin Hurley, for his exemplary accomplishments, tireless efforts, and contributions toward conservation and management of wild sheep in North America and beyond to recognize his dedication and commitment to wild sheep. The purpose of the student award is to support the development of the next generation of wildlife biologists and scientists devoted to the management and conservation of wild sheep.

    A letter of recommendation is not required to be considered for this scholarship.
