M.B.A. Future of Broadcasting Scholarship

Required Qualifications:

  • One of the following:
    – Pursuing a degree from the School of Film and Photography, sophomore status or above
    – Pursuing a graduate degree in Science and Natural History Filmmaking
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA;
  • Must have worked, or be working at the time of application, at a broadcast radio or television station, for at least two (2) semesters part-time, or one (1) full semester (16 weeks), full-time. This experience can include unpaid internships and/or paid employment, but must include substantial experience in some type of actual production.

Supplemental Questions
  1. Applicants must have worked, or be working at the time of application, at a broadcast radio or television station, for at least two (2) semesters part-time, or one (1) full semester (16 weeks), full-time. This experience can include unpaid internships and/or paid employment, but must include substantial experience in some type of actual production.

    Submit an essay between 500 and 750 words that specifically addresses the following:

    • Educational background
    • Interest in the broadcasting field
    • Experience working at a broadcasting radio or television station
  2. Upload a letter of support from a direct supervisor at the broadcast station at which you have worked.
  3. Upload a letter of support from an MSU School of Film and Photography faculty member who has taught you.
  4. Upload a complete copy of your current transcript(s). Please be sure to redact any sensitive personal identifying information, such as SSN and birthdate.
