Frederick A. Kekule Award

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree from the Department of Chemical and Biochemistry, excluding Chemistry Teaching;
• Promise for a career as a professional chemist/biochemist;
• Performed well in organic chemistry considering that Frederick Kekule is believed by many to be “the originator/inventor of the structural foundation on which modern organic chemistry has been built.”;
• Awarded to an outstanding sophomore based on professional activities in the department. Award disbursed the recipient’s junior year.
